MAN SET ABLAZE BECAUSE FOR HAVING AFFAIR WITH HIS FRIENDS MOTHER IN ENUGU (PICS
A father of four, Mr. Sylvester Ezema, of Akpa Edem, Nsukka, Enugu State was on Saturday set ablaze by one Sunday Ugwuoke of the same community.
The incident, which happened in the early hours of that faithful morning, has created much confusion and tension in the community.
According to him, Ugwuoke on sighting Ezema, poured petrol on him before setting him ablaze. After the heinous act, he ran away and is still at large till now. He further revealed that the shouting of the victim attracted sympathizers, who rushed him to Chukwudi Hospital Nsukka, where he later died.
Meanwhile, Ugwuoke was alleged to have told some of his friends that he had warned the victim several times to stop having amorous relationship with his mother.
When contacted, the Enugu State Police Public Relation Officer, Ebere Amarizu, DSP, confirmed the incident and said that police had started investigations to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.

TRAGEDY: Landlord Sets 6 Youths AblazeOver Indian Hemp
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested
a middle-aged man, Mukaila Adebesin, for
allegedly setting ablaze six people in Ita
Balogun Compund, Ago-Oko, Abeokuta.
It was gathered that the victims were
allegedly set ablaze by Adebesin at 7pm
because they were gambling and smoking
Indian hemp on his premises. The victims are:
Adesanya, 20, Sulaiman Adebesin, 20,
Saburi Seteolu 18, Raheem Bello 19, Azeez
Alabi 20, and Kola Sodeinde 19.
A witness who pleaded anonymity told Punch
that Adebesin, a commercial bus driver, had
just returned from an outing when he saw the
six youths in his compound.
He said, “Their activities made the driver
engage them in an argument. As the talks
became heated,
Adebesin reached for a can of
petrol which he emptied on them. The victims
attempted to flee when it dawned on them
that the liquid poured on them was petrol.
“But they caught fire from a stick of the
Indian hemp being smoked by one of them.
They suffered high degree burns due to the
incident.â€
Adebesin, who is currently being detained at
Oke-Itoku Police Station, was said to have
turned himself in to the police immediately
after the incident.
Other youths in the area, on learning of the
development, stormed Adebesin’s compound,
and vandalised his apartment and injured his
wife who is currently receiving treatment at
an undisclosed hospital.
The state Police Public Relations Officer,
Muyiwa Adejobi, said that investigations had
already commenced into the matter.
“Adebesin
might be charged to court after the conclusion
of investigations. He said four of the youths
had been admitted at the General Hospital,
Ijaiye, while two others were taken to a
private clinic for treatment.
“Information available to us is that the
suspect had an argument with the youths
before he poured PMS on them. For now, we
cannot ascertain other circumstances that led
to the incident but we have the suspect in our
custody.â€
The police has warned youths in the area not
to engage in any reprisals, or risk arrest

It has been gathered that the young women have formed a 'cult' called Missing in Action, a community allegedly possessing "deadly charms and weapons," as reported by Leadership.
The highest number of members reportedly belongs to the six popular public secondary schools in the Warri/Asaba area [no names given]; on a daily basis, they visit primary school girls too woo them to join the 'cult'.
ASP Lucky Uyabeme, Police spokesman for Delta State, has confirmed that sixteen girls were apprehended in a hotel in Umuagu/Ogbeke Square area, celebrating their introduction into the 'cult'. Upon questioning, the girls admitted to being lesbians, and, hence, were arraigned at the Magistrate Court III, Asaba.
Moreover, members of the group, said to be students in JSS II and III of a popular secondary school for girls, are reportedly seducing female teachers with gifts and photographs of a revealing nature showing girls engaged in sexual activities with each other.
Phase I & II Club House around DLA road in Asaba is the alleged training centre for new entrants, where they are indoctrinated by others who have been long involved in the act.

in the International Criminal Court of Justice (ICJ) for the “trial and
crucifixion of Jesus Christ,” which the lawyer claims was “unlawful,”
according to regional media reports.Kenyan lawyer Dola Indidis says that Israel and the Jewish people should be held legally liable for Jesus’s death, according to the Jerusalem Post.
Indidis, who has taken his case the ICJ in The Hague, is also suing Tiberius, the emperor of Rome in 42 BCE, “Pontius Pilate, a selection of Jewish elders, King Herod, the Republic of Italy, and the State of Israel,” according to the Post.
Indidis is using the Bible as his primary piece of evidence against Israel.
“Evidence today is on record in the Bible, and you cannot discredit the Bible,” Indidis was quoted as saying by the Kenyan Citizen News.
Indidis further “insists that the government for whom they acted can and should still be held responsible,” the Post reported.
Indidis, who reportedly is a former spokesman of the Kenyan Judiciary, insists that he has a “duty to uphold the dignity of Jesus.”
“I filed the case because it’s my duty to uphold the dignity of Jesus and I have gone to the ICJ to seek justice for the man from Nazareth,” Indidis was quoted as saying. “His selective and malicious prosecution violated his human rights through judicial misconduct, abuse of office bias and prejudice.”
Indidis further maintains that Jesus was not given a proper say during his trial and that his resulting punishment was unfairly carried out.
“I am suing as a friend [of Jesus],” he was quoted as saying.
When asked about the case, an ICJ official is reported to have said, “It is not even theoretically possible for us to consider this case,” according to the Post.
27-Yr-Old Killed By Friend Over Mobile Phone
A 27-year-old man was killed by his friend, weekend, over the ownership of a mobile phone charger.
The tragedy occurred at Isapodo area of Ijebu-Ife, in Ijebu North-East Local Government Area of Ogun State on Sunday.
The victim, Mr Dele Oje, described as an easy going person by his neighbours, was said to have been allegedly killed by his friend, simply identified as Muyideen after the latter requested for a phone charger from the former.
Investigations revealed that Oje had earlier argued with his friend over who owned the charger minutes before he was killed.
Shortly before his death, an argument had ensued between the duo, prompting neighbours in the two-storey building to intervene.
Unfortunately, the neighbours had barely left the scene of the argument, when Dele’s friend descendedon him as the deceased attempted to have his breakfast and slashed his throat with a sharp object.
A neighbour of the deceased who did not want to be named, narrated what she described as an unfortunate incident, said: “We had earlier settled a seeming quarrel between the friends over the ownership of a telephone charger when Muyideen killedhis friend’’.
‘We got there later only to seeblood stains on the wall and floor of the building, an indication that Oje had attempted to escape from his assailant’’.
Another resident who identified himself as AbayomiOyeyemi also said that after the murder, Muyideen fled only to be fished out in a near-by bush, three hours after.
The body has been deposited at the Ijebu-Ode General Hospital mortuary while Muyideen who was arrested by the youths in the community had been handed over to police at the Ogbere division.

Nwabueze, 38, was paraded by the police at
the ‘A’ Division of the Plateau State Police
Command.
Policemen from the division, led by the
Divisional Police Officer, Mr. Victor Dimkpa, a
Chief Superintendent of Police, had rescued
the baby, named Chiamaka, in Awka, the
Anambra State capital.
Blessing, who was staying with her mother at
Rukuba Road area of Jos North, was put in the
family way by her boyfriend, now no where to
be found.
After baby Chiamaka was delivered, Blessing’s
mother decided to get rid of the
baby. According to her, on July 19, her mother
sent her on a phony errand in order to effect
the “diabolical†act.
She said, “My mother sent me on an errand,
but when I came back I asked for my baby and
my mother asked, ‘which baby?’ She feigned
ignorance and at that point I started crying
and reported the incident to the Police.â€
Police Commissioner, Mr. Chris Olakpe said,
“After the mother sent her daughter away, she
(Nwabueze) stopped a tricycle and took the
baby to the first receiver, one Eucharia
Anyaegbu. Anyaegbu transferred the baby to
the second receiver, Rita Maduako, who finally
sold the baby to 53-year-old unmarried
woman, Grace Nnadozie.â€
Nnadozie, however, told our correspondent
that after she applied to an orphanage home
for a child without any result for the past two
years, she sought Anyaegbu’s help.
She said she gave N500,000 to Anyaegbu for
the baby. Anyaegbu gave N350, 000 to
Maduako. Maduako was to give N200,000 to
the baby’s grandmother.
But Nwabueze denied that she sold the baby.
She said her daughter was very wayward, so
she decided to give the baby out to somebody
else who would take proper care of her.
She said, “How can I sell my granddaughter.
My daughter is not capable of taking care of
the baby and I decided to give her to
somebody who will take proper care of her.â€
Mrs Nwabueze however confessed that she
lost her husband in 2007 and since then, she
and the six children she had with him, had been
finding things difficult

An Asaba Chief Magistrate’s Court has
sentenced head storekeeper attached to
Millennium Development Goals, MDGs, office
Asaba and his assistant to 24 years
imprisonment for stealing treated mosquito
nets.
But no matter the billions a big man steals in
Nigeria, he wont spend more than six months
or two years in prison and will even be asked to
pay a "ridiculous" fine and go home.
The said Mosquito Nets were procured by the
Federal Government for the six states in the
South-South geo-political zone and kept in the
warehouse.
Jailed were Mr. Mike Okonkwo, Head of
Store, MDGs office, Asaba and Mrs.
Finecountry Tracy, his assistant.
Incidentally, the businessman, who purchased
the nets from the storekeepers, Ugwu Joseph,
jumped bail during trial and was still at large
when the judgment was delivered, Monday.
Delivering judgment, Chief Magistrate S. C.
Ehikwe sentenced the storekeeper and his
assistant to three years imprisonment with
hard labour on each of the four counts for
which they were found guilty. Sentences are,
however, to run concurrently.
The magistrate also ordered that: “The police
is urged to intensify their efforts to get Ugwu
Ugochukwu arrested as the bench warrant
issued for his arrest and his surety to show
cause was extended.
“When arrested, warrant to serve his jail term
would be signed in line with the terms of the
second and third accused persons. It is
further ordered that his surety wherever
found should be arrested to face his own
charge.â€
Counsel to the third accused, Mr. F. N.
Monye
had pleaded for “utmost leniency,†saying that
third accused is a housewife and urged the
court to be lenient with her, same for the
second accused he claimed that he was a
victim of circumstance.
But the Magistrate said: “The issue of mercy
and leniency depends on the nature of the
case. Those who are privileged to be entrusted
with the welfare of the less privileged should
regard such a responsibility as a sacred duty
bestowed on them by God.â€
“Denying the less privileged the benefit of
health care which is the only way the
government can get to them is not only a sin
against humanity but a crime against God.
Such people do not deserve mercy. The
punishment is to serve as a deterrent to
others.â€
How come it is only the poor without
connections that our judiciary use as example?
